We understand that the need to increase access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) fields is vital to the economic sustainability of a region. Unfortunately, many students find the courses within STEAM pathways to be difficult, stressful and therefore, do not continue their education in STEAM fields.
It is time to demonstrate that students, given the opportunity to start STEAM concepts early in the home, will excel given proper support from family, teachers, and mentors. For many students, success is based on more than STEAM knowledge—their ability to stay engaged and get through rough patches with help from role models, family members, peers and mentors is critical to maintaining interest in a STEAM Career.
In collaboration with dedicated partners over the course of the last year, we have been able to: develop a full 16 week parent-facing STEAM curriculum, translated into Spanish and Tagalog, launch a dedicated website,organize an STEAM-focused art competition for K-12 grade students, locate incentives and in-kind donations from nonprofits and cultural organizations. In an effort to serve our students and to achieve additional milestones, we still need your support. With your donation we will be able to further enhance our programming, provide STEAM kits, host events, and provide ongoing support of the 16 Weeks of STEAM Initiative to launch again next year.
